Jewelry Care

Caring for Resin Jewelry

Although all resin jewelry uses the highest quality resin, due to the nature of the material we suggest following these guidelines to maintain your piece.

Resin can be sensitive to prolonged exposure to intense sunlight, which may cause discoloration or yellowing over time. Store your resin jewelry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not wearing it. UV rays can also make resin brittle and prone to cracking.

When cleaning your resin jewelry, dust it off with a soft cloth to freshen up the piece. For deeper cleaning if necessary, use a damp cloth with mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Never use alcohol or acetone on resin jewelry as these substances will damage the material and cause it to lose its shine. Harsh chemicals including perfumes, hairsprays, and cleaning products can damage the surface finish and should be avoided. Apply any scented products or cosmetics before putting on your resin pieces.

Resin jewelry should never be worn during activities that involve water such as showering or pool/beach activities as chlorine, salt water, and hot water can affect the material's integrity and appearance. When removing jewelry for these purposes be sure to store in a dry area.

Following these steps will help ensure the longevity of your jewelry.

Caring for Plated Jewelry

Due to the nature of plated jewelry we suggest following these guidelines to maintain your piece.

Scented products such as perfumes, colognes and lotions contain chemicals that can react with plating and discolor or fade jewelry. Body chemistry and moisture can also effect a plated piece – a high skin PH balance will greatly speed up wear on a plated item.

Plated jewelry should never be worn during activities that involve water such as showering or pool/beach activities as chlorine and salt water will effect plating. When removing jewelry for these purposes be sure to store in a dry area. Friction or contact with a hard surface can produce scratches or wear to the piece.

If necessary, use warm water with a mild, fragrance-free soap to clean plated items. Gently pat dry with a clean cotton or microfiber cloth. Most jewelry cleaners contain chemical elements that will slowly wear and fade plating over time.

Following these steps will help ensure the longevity of your jewelry.
