Chasing that moment

I came across Jang Yeonjeong's work this week and something just — stayed.

There's a soft, yet lively, vibrant quality to her work. I was drawn to the translucency — not quite see-through, but you feel like if you looked long enough, softly enough, you might get there. You may not. And yet you want to keep trying, again and again, mesmerized by her moving imagery.

The shapes move continuously, organically, fluid-like, always mid-becoming. Nothing holds still, which feels honest. Nothing ever does. But instead of that feeling like loss, it feels like continuity. Like something underneath that can't be destroyed — a beauty that just keeps finding a new form.

What I didn't expect was how safe it made me feel. Vulnerable, yes — but the kind of vulnerable where no one can reach you. Just you and the feeling. Somewhere between dreaming and awake.

The colors are soft. Pastels, always. And those fine lines running through — like something living, something delicate. The kind of thing that could change in a second.

I think that's what I love most about it. That fragility. And somehow, underneath it — something that stays.

That quality — beauty that enchants you, pulls you back, makes you want to keep looking — is something I think about with Kismo too. I'm always chasing that same feeling. Something that holds you a moment longer than you expected.
