Sustainability

Kismo approaches sustainability with care, intention, and transparency—focusing on thoughtful production rather than mass output.

Pieces are created in small batches, which helps reduce excess inventory and unnecessary waste. Many designs are handmade or hand-finished, allowing for greater control over materials and production quantities.

Materials & impact

Some Kismo pieces use resin, which is a petroleum-based material and not biodegradable. We choose to use resin intentionally because it allows us to capture color, movement, and texture in ways other materials cannot, while also creating durable pieces meant to last.

Rather than overproducing, Kismo prioritizes:

  • Small-batch production

  • Durable materials designed for long-term wear

  • Designs that are not trend-driven, encouraging longevity over replacement

Sustainability at Kismo is viewed as an ongoing practice, not a fixed claim. We continue to learn, refine, and explore ways to improve materials and processes over time, while creating pieces meant to be worn, kept, and appreciated.
